In a recent interview with a private news channel, Hanif Abbasi, a senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), strongly criticized Bilawal Zardari, chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), regarding the latter's performance as foreign minister during the previous government tenure led by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

Abbasi expressed dissatisfaction with the PPP's governance, highlighting that PML-N preferred not to interfere in the PPP-led ministries during their coalition. He emphasized that the performance of these ministries was unsatisfactory, asserting that PML-N might opt to remain in the opposition rather than forming an alliance with PPP after the 2024 general elections.

Criticizing Bilawal's capability, Abbasi remarked, "A person from a privileged background cannot effectively manage the foreign ministry." He referenced Bilawal's earlier remarks about Shehbaz Sharif and suggested that PPP should display similar commitment to development in Sindh, a province facing significant challenges in access to basic necessities like water, education, and healthcare.

Abbasi's comments were made in response to recent criticisms by Bilawal against PML-N, their former allies within the Pakistan Democratic Movement. Looking ahead to the upcoming general elections, Abbasi expressed confidence in PML-N's potential to secure government in Punjab and Balochistan. Additionally, he indicated the possibility of a coalition with JUI-F in KPK and a strong challenge to PPP in Sindh.
