Caretaker Balochistan Information Minister, Jan Achakzai, has affirmed the government's unwavering commitment to taking comprehensive action against terrorists and initiating a war against those disrupting the province's peace.
During a press conference in Quetta, the minister praised the dedication of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in the fight against terrorism and emphasized the joint efforts of provincial and federal governments in countering extremism and terrorism.
Achakzai disclosed that authorities had recovered the remains of the suicide bomber responsible for the tragic incident during the 12 Rabiul Awwal procession in Mastung on Friday. The death toll from the attack has risen to 60, including religious leaders, children, and a police officer.
He identified the perpetrator as a young individual aged between 15 and 18, firmly stating that there is no place for terrorism in Balochistan. The state is fully aware of the culprits and facilitators behind the incident and pledged swift justice. In support of the victims' families, Achakzai announced compensation of Rs1.5 million for each martyr's heirs and ensured medical treatment for the injured.
Achakzai echoed Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti's assertion that the Indian intelligence agency, RAW, was responsible for the unrest and terrorist acts in Balochistan. He emphasized that such elements would not be spared.
Bugti had earlier stated that RAW was behind the deadly Mastung blast and reaffirmed the government's commitment to eliminate terrorists and their facilitators. He warned of zero tolerance for terrorist activities and pledged intelligence-based operations to apprehend and eliminate those involved in such incidents. Bugti expressed sympathy for the affected families and stressed that the government knew who was behind such tragic events and who was sponsoring them, vowing not to tolerate the bloodshed of innocent Pakistanis.
