KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming 9th and 10th-grade annual examinations. According to the statement issued by the board, matriculation exams will commence from April 8, 2025, across Karachi.
As per BSEK officials, around 375,000 students are expected to appear for the exams this year. To accommodate them, a total of 499 examination centers have been designated throughout the city. The complete list of centers has been made available on the board’s official website to facilitate students and parents.
BSEK Chairman stated that all students have been issued computerized admit cards, and these are mandatory for entry into the examination halls. The board has taken comprehensive measures to ensure transparency and discipline during the exams. In this regard, a strict ban has been imposed on mobile phones and all electronic gadgets inside the exam centers. Students found with such devices will have them immediately confiscated by the staff on duty.
Officials clarified that the schedule for the practical examinations will be announced separately in the coming days. Students are advised to stay updated through official channels.
The examination schedule was originally set for March but had to be revised due to the overlap with the holy month of Ramadan. The revised dates were finalized in coordination with the Sindh government to ensure convenience for students fasting during the holy month.
In addition to the examination schedule, the Sindh education department also marked the beginning of the new academic year for schools today, April 7, 2025. Educational institutions have reopened following the annual spring break, and regular academic activities have resumed.
Meanwhile, the new academic year for colleges across Sindh has been scheduled to begin on August 1, 2025, according to an official circular.
The department also confirmed that the summer and winter vacation schedules will remain unchanged. Summer vacations will be observed from June 1 to July 31, while winter holidays are scheduled from December 22 to December 31.
The BSEK has urged students to focus on their preparations and abide by all exam-related rules to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.
