Canadian authorities to conduct audit of flight and security operations in Pakistan next month

KARACHI: A team from Transport Canada is set to arrive in Pakistan on December 4 for an audit focusing on flight operations and airport security.

The delegation, representing Transport Canada, plans to conduct an audit specifically on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) direct flights departing from Karachi Airport on December 5. Their agenda includes inspecting PIA aircraft and reviewing airport security arrangements.

During their visit, the Canadian team will receive comprehensive briefings regarding security measures implemented at Karachi Airport, encompassing areas such as baggage screening, passenger boarding procedures, and overall passenger safety protocols.

The primary objective of Transport Canada’s visit is to bolster the security and efficiency standards of direct flights from Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi to Canada. Additionally, the Canadian delegation will visit the Civil Aviation Authority's Joint Search Baggage Counter established at Karachi airport.
