Chairman Nazimabad Town, Syed Muhammad Muzaffar, along with Vice Chairman Muhammad Nauman Siddiqui, launched a campaign to disinfect the area.
The campaign, aimed at eradicating flies, mosquitoes, and other harmful germs in Nazimabad Town, commenced on Tuesday from the Abad Town central office. The event was attended by Deputy Director Sanitation Zaheer Ahmed, Deputy Director Mechanical Masroor, Director Information Faheem Mustafa, and other local government officials. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation deployed six vehicles for spraying disinfectants in Nazimabad Town, with plans to cover all Union Committees in the area.
Chairman Syed Muhammad Muzaffar emphasized that the goal of this disinfectant campaign is to raise awareness about hygiene principles and provide a healthier environment. He noted that temperate climates often lead to increased growth of germs, including flies, mosquitoes, and bacteria, which can transmit diseases like malaria and dengue. To safeguard the residents of Nazimabad Town and prevent the breeding of harmful germs, a regular disinfectant spraying campaign has been initiated. Syed Muhammad Muzaffar instructed the disinfectant spraying staff to focus on every union committee, particularly areas near rivers and low-lying regions, using both spray vehicles and manual equipment.
Vice Chairman Muhammad Nauman Siddiqui emphasized that local bodies have a primary responsibility to provide a clean environment, but citizens must also do their part by not disposing of household waste in drains and on roads.
