RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar stated on Tuesday that the new president for the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter was appointed with the consent of provincial Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Gohar clarified that only one dialogue committee had been formed and that negotiations were conducted with sincerity, but they did not proceed as expected.
He mentioned that PTI had demanded the announcement of a judicial commission within seven days, which, if fulfilled, could have led to positive developments in the dialogue process. Gohar also emphasized that PTI would collaborate with other opposition factions to raise a voice against the 26th amendment and did not rule out approaching the courts for this cause.
Regarding the new appointment of the party president in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gohar addressed confusion surrounding the issue. He revealed that during a meeting with the party’s founder, it was conveyed that Gandapur had sent a message, clarifying that he was not dismissed but had been under immense work pressure, leading him to call for a replacement as provincial president.
