ISLAMABAD: In a significant legal development, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted a two-day physical remand for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
He was apprehended by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police following the ATC's reserved verdict. This move comes after Elahi's re-arrest by the CTD in connection with the judicial complex attack case, immediately after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended his detention under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance. The case against Elahi was initially registered at the CTD police station on September 3. His counsel alleges that he was forcefully removed from his vehicle and abducted outside the Police lines.
