In response to directives from the Sindh government, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Saleem Rajput continues his crackdown on illegal profiteering and hoarding in the city.

The crackdown targets individuals engaged in hoarding and profiteering activities. Commissioner Rajput emphasized that citizens should not be subjected to the exploitation of high-priced goods by street vendors and profiteers. The government is committed to providing relief to people affected by inflation, and any attempts to exert pressure in this regard will not be tolerated.

As a result of the recent crackdown on wholesalers, illegal profiteers, and hoarders, significant fines totaling over four million rupees were imposed on many profiteers, and several shops were sealed.

In District West, fines amounted to twenty-eight thousand rupees, while in District East, it was seventy-three thousand rupees, and in District Malir, fines reached eight lakh seventy thousand rupees.

Additionally, Commissioner Karachi, as an ordinary citizen, personally purchased various food items, including milk, from shops, ensuring that he did not pay more than the government-prescribed rates. Penalties were imposed on those engaged in unjust profiteering.
