KARACHI: Customs Intelligence in Karachi conducted an operation that revealed an attempt to evade Rs 27.5 million in taxes regarding the import of edible oil by Food Links International.
Acting on a tip-off, the operation uncovered under-invoicing tactics used to avoid taxes on oil imported from Indonesia. Additionally, the authorities found evidence suggesting the company's involvement in cash transactions through the Hawala/Hundi network for these imports. Legal action has been taken against those implicated in the evasion.
