Dr. Asim shares latest update on President Zardari's health

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari, who has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi, is showing signs of improvement, according to his physician, Dr. Asim Hussain. The doctor provided an update on the president’s condition, revealing that his blood test reports indicate a positive trend.

Dr. Asim Hussain shared that a team of infectious disease experts visits President Zardari three times a day to monitor his condition closely. This regular medical supervision ensures that the president’s health is closely tracked, as the doctors work to provide the best possible care. Dr. Hussain also praised the decision to transfer President Zardari from Nawabshah to Karachi, saying it was a wise move that allowed for more specialized treatment and improved care.

The physician expressed optimism regarding the president’s recovery and stated that he hoped President Zardari would be discharged from the hospital within the next few days. However, Dr. Hussain emphasized that the current health restrictions, primarily due to ongoing concerns about the coronavirus pandemic, have limited visitor access to the hospital. These precautions are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of both the patient and the medical staff.

Dr. Hussain further reassured that the president’s family is being regularly updated on his health status and that they are fully informed about his recovery process. This transparency helps ensure that the family remains in the loop and is aware of the ongoing medical developments.

Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), was transferred to the hospital in Karachi on March 31 after experiencing health issues. He had developed a fever, which was attributed to an infection. His medical team acted promptly, and the decision to move him to Karachi was made to provide more specialized care. The transfer was also made in light of the president’s condition, which required immediate medical attention.

Earlier, news reports had circulated about Zardari’s health, fueling speculation about his condition. However, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon refuted claims regarding Zardari’s worsening health and dismissed reports that he was being flown to Dubai for treatment. Memon clarified that the reports about the president’s health were not accurate and confirmed that Zardari’s health was indeed improving.

Zardari, who was elected as the 14th President of Pakistan on March 10, has been a significant political figure for many years. His leadership role in the PPP and his past presidency have kept him in the public eye. Despite his health concerns, the president's supporters remain hopeful for his swift recovery.

The decision to transfer Zardari to a specialized hospital in Karachi, combined with regular medical assessments, is expected to continue to improve his health. His condition will be closely monitored in the coming days, with his family and political associates eagerly awaiting his discharge.
