The Power Division has recently released statistics regarding electricity theft in the Sindh province.
The latest figures disclosed by the Power Division reveal that 50% of electricity is being stolen in eight districts, while 19 other districts in Sindh are illegally using up to 30% of power.
The report further indicates that electricity theft is less than 20% in two districts of Sindh. A detailed breakdown reveals that Jacobabad and Sujawal districts have the highest percentage of electricity theft, with approximately 59% and 58%, respectively.
In Larkana, the rate of electricity theft stands at 57%, while Kashmore records 56%, and Shikarpur, Dadu, and Naushehro Feroze have rates of 52%. Additionally, Matiari reports 49% of electricity being pilfered, while Khairpur follows closely behind with 48%.
Meanwhile, Tharparkar district reports an 11% rate of electricity theft, and Jamshoro records a 15% rate, according to the report.
