KARACHI: In a significant development within the PML-N Sindh, former Director General of the FIA, Bashir Memon, has been appointed as the new president of the party's Sindh chapter.

This organizational reshuffle has also seen Shah Muhammad Shah taking on the role of vice president. The appointments have been officially confirmed through a notification.

Bashir Memon was previously appointed as the convener of the reception committee for Nawaz Sharif's arrival on October 21, following his joining of the PML-N on September 29, 2023. Nawaz Sharif has instructed Bashir Memon to rejuvenate the PML-N's presence in Sindh and has plans to visit the region soon.

There are also plans to restructure and reinvigorate the PML-N in other cities in Sindh, including Karachi. Bashir Memon's main focus will be to engage and empower the youth in Sindh.

It's worth noting that Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz played a key role in recommending Bashir Memon for the position of president in the PML-N Sindh chapter.
