Veteran actor Fazila Qazi recently shared a heartwarming and amusing story from the early days of her relationship with now-husband, actor-director Kaiser Khan Nizamani.
In a candid appearance on a private news channel’s comedy show, Qazi revealed how Nizamani used to follow her around on the sets of her drama shoots before she eventually confronted him about his behavior.
Qazi, known for her role in the popular drama Bay Khudi, recalled how Nizamani’s constant presence on set made her uncomfortable. “He used to follow me everywhere, and I eventually confronted him, telling him that this behavior was damaging my reputation and could potentially affect my ability to work in the industry,” she shared.
It was during this confrontation that Nizamani revealed his feelings for Qazi. “He admitted that he liked me,” she recalled, adding that this unexpected confession caught her off guard. “I told him that if he was serious, he should send a marriage proposal,” Qazi continued. “I thought this would discourage him because, generally, men are reluctant to take on responsibility, especially when they are in a struggling phase of their career.”
However, to her surprise, Nizamani accepted her challenge and sent a marriage proposal. Despite the initial rejection from Nizamani’s family, Qazi explained that he remained determined to marry her. “He was adamant, and eventually, we got married,” she added with a smile.
The couple, who married in 1993, has since built a life together and has two sons, Ahmed and Zorain. Their love story, which started with a surprising turn of events, continues to inspire many.
Qazi’s lighthearted recollection of the early days of her relationship with Nizamani highlights the couple's strong bond and the humorous moments they shared before settling into married life. Their story is a testament to the unpredictability of love and the determination to make things work against all odds.
