ISLAMABAD: In an effort to streamline the rollout and provide support, the FBR has appointed Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) as the official and licensed integrator under Rule 150XF.

This strategic move ensures that businesses can access technical support and system integration services free of charge. PRAL’s role includes assisting businesses with setup, training, and maintenance of the invoicing systems to ensure continuous compliance without disrupting normal business functions.

By collaborating with PRAL, the FBR aims to reduce the compliance burden, particularly for smaller businesses, and promote a more uniform implementation of the digital invoicing system. The partnership is expected to pave the way for a more transparent and accountable tax infrastructure across the country. With this reform, the FBR is signaling its commitment to embracing automation and innovation as tools to strengthen revenue collection and improve governance within the national tax system.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has rolled out SRO 69(I)/2025, amending the Sales Tax Rules, 2006, to enforce mandatory electronic invoicing across all registered businesses. This sweeping change is aimed at enhancing tax compliance, promoting transparency, and improving real-time reporting capabilities.

Under the new rules, all "integrated persons" — businesses registered with the FBR — are required to digitally link their sales systems with the FBR’s computerized system. According to the official notification, companies must install hardware and software that generate and transmit electronic invoices directly to FBR, complete with secure features like QR codes, FBR invoice numbers, and detailed transaction data.

PRAL is the fourth integrated partner (Shall offer free-of-cost integration services), the other approved license integrators are M/S Haball (Pvt) Ltd., M/S EY (Pvt) Ltd., and M/s WebDNAworks (Pvt) Ltd.
