The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a Track & Trace System (TTS) for the Tobacco, Sugar, Cement and Fertilizer Sectors from 01-07-2022 to prevent counterfeiting, non-tax paid products and authentication of genuine product.
The public is encouraged to buy products with FBR's tax stamp only.
The TTS is a digital system that tracks and traces the movement of goods from the manufacturer to the consumer. It uses unique identification codes to identify each product and track its movement through the supply chain.
The TTS has a number of benefits, including:
- Preventing counterfeiting: The TTS makes it difficult for counterfeit products to enter the market, as each genuine product has a unique identification code.
- Preventing non-tax paid products: The TTS helps to ensure that all products have been taxed properly, as each product must have an FBR tax stamp in order to be sold.
- Authenticating genuine products: The TTS allows consumers to verify that the products they are buying are genuine by scanning the FBR tax stamp.
The FBR is encouraging the public to buy products with FBR tax stamps only. This will help to ensure that they are buying genuine products and that the government is receiving the tax revenue that it is due
