KARACHI: Fire broke out in the slums located under Karachi's Teen Hatti bridge, resulting in the burning of more than 15 huts in the city.
Firefighting teams and police swiftly arrived at the scene, managing to bring the fire under control. The cooling process is currently ongoing. While the blaze damaged around 100 huts beneath the Teen Hatti bridge, fortunately, there have been no reported casualties.
This incident follows a tragic fire at the Arshi Shopping Mall in Ayesha Manzil, Karachi, where five individuals lost their lives. The fire started in furniture shops and rapidly spread, consuming 130 shops including jewelry and garment stores in the multi-story building.
Following safety assessments by the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), the affected Arshi Heights building has been deemed safe for occupation. Residents have begun returning to their apartments, though water accumulation on the third and fourth floors is expected to be resolved soon.
