RAWALPINDI: In a tragic incident, four soldiers were martyred during a clash that erupted when a large group of terrorists launched an attack on two Pakistani military posts situated near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, specifically in the Kalash area of Chitral district.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement, revealing that the well-equipped terrorists struck the posts on Wednesday. In a fierce counterattack, the Pakistani soldiers managed to eliminate 12 militants. The ISPR stated that prior intelligence had detected the movements of terrorists in various Afghan provinces, including Gawardesh, Pitigal, Barg-e-Matel, and Batash, and this information was promptly shared with the Interim Afghan Government.

Given the heightened threat level, the Pakistani military posts were already on high alert. The brave soldiers valiantly defended their positions, repelling the terrorist assault and inflicting significant casualties on the attackers. Sadly, during the intense firefight, four courageous soldiers laid down their lives. The ISPR reported that sanitization operations are underway in the area to root out any remaining terrorists.

Pakistan's security forces remain unwavering in their commitment to eradicate terrorism, with the sacrifices of their soldiers only strengthening their determination. The resilient people of Chitral continue to stand united with the security forces in their resolve to maintain peace in the region. It is expected that the Interim Afghan government will fulfill its obligations to prevent the use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
