Dr. Hani Hamada, the Ministry of Health's Operations Director and Gaza's Field Hospitals Coordinator, highlighted the critical state of Gaza's health system in an interview with Al Jazeera.
Speaking from the Indonesian field hospital in Rafah, he emphasized the siege on Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, rendering it inaccessible for comprehensive services. He mentioned the limited healthcare facilities, such as the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central area, and the European Hospital, facing a high influx of cases with full beds and lengthy waiting lists.
Approximately 1.6 million people in Rafah urgently require medical attention and healthcare services. Dr. Hamada expressed concern over disrupted scheduled operations for cancer patients due to the escalating crisis.
Describing the situation as perilous, he urged swift and immediate international intervention, calling upon various international institutions, Arab nations, and foreign countries to intervene promptly. The plea aimed to rescue Gaza's residents from the severe impact of the ongoing Israeli attacks.
