The UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) states that the distribution of aid within Gaza is incredibly challenging, with over 1.7 million people displaced. OCHA emphasizes that the main crossings are either closed, inaccessible due to safety concerns, or not logistically feasible.
Furthermore, the primary Rafah crossing along the border with Egypt, now under the control of Israel's military, has remained entirely closed since May 8. This closure has severed the sole evacuation route for injured Palestinians requiring urgent medical care. As a result, access to critical medical assistance for those in need has been severely impeded.
