KARACHI: The price of gold per tola fell by Rs2,000 in Pakistan, following a decline in international gold rates. On Tuesday, the local market price for gold reached Rs318,000 per tola.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs1,715, settling at Rs272,633, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). This marks a continued downward trend for the yellow metal, which has been experiencing a decline amid global economic uncertainties.
On Saturday, the price per tola had briefly surged to Rs320,000, after a significant one-day drop of Rs5,500. The international rate of gold also saw a decline on Tuesday, with the price standing at $3,010 per ounce, a decrease of $28 from the previous day.
In addition to gold, the price of silver also fell by Rs50 per tola, bringing the new price to Rs3,170 per tola.
