KARACHI: Gold prices continued their record-breaking trend on Monday, with both local and international markets seeing significant increases. In Pakistan, the price of gold per tola surged by Rs8,100, reaching a new all-time high of Rs357,800. Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs6,944, settling at Rs306,755, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

This rise marks a notable leap from Saturday’s price of Rs349,700 per tola, which remained unchanged. The continuous upward movement in gold prices reflects growing global demand and economic uncertainties, contributing to the precious metal’s price escalation.

On the international front, gold also saw a fresh record high. The price per ounce reached $3,395, marking a $69 increase during the day. The rate included a premium of $20, underlining the rising global market value of gold. This price surge reflects increasing investor interest in gold amid global financial instability and inflation concerns.

In addition to gold, the price of silver also saw an uptick. Silver per tola increased by Rs24, bringing it to Rs3,441.

The rising gold prices are a significant development for investors, jewelers, and consumers in Pakistan, highlighting both global trends and the impact of domestic economic conditions on precious metal markets.
