The All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) has finally resumed the release of bullion rates after an approximately month-long hiatus, revealing a significant drop in the price of gold.
According to data disclosed by the APSGJA, the price of 24-carat gold has witnessed a notable decrease, falling by Rs15,500 per tola and Rs13,546 per 10 grams, ultimately settling at Rs199,500 and Rs171,039, respectively.
The last available bullion rates were reported on September 12, with the price of gold standing at Rs215,000 per tola. During the interim period, economic uncertainty had led to mounting speculations. Consequently, the government took decisive action, launching a crackdown against speculators, which ultimately led to the suspension of bullion rate updates.
