The price of 24 karat gold per tola witnessed a decline of Rs.3,500, selling at Rs.248,700 on Monday compared to its previous rate of Rs.252,200.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold dropped by Rs.3,021 to Rs.213,220 from its earlier rate of Rs.216,221. Meanwhile, the rate for 10 grams of 22 karat gold rose to Rs.195,452 from Rs.198,202, as reported by the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.
The per tola silver price also saw a decrease of Rs.30, reaching Rs.2,750, while the price for ten grams of silver declined by Rs.27.86 to Rs.2,357.68.
Internationally, the price of gold dipped by $30 to $2,381 from $2,411, as reported by the Association.
In other economic news, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) achieved a historic milestone by surpassing the 71,500 points mark for the first time. Investors celebrated as the KSE-100 index surged by over 740 points, reaching a record high of 71,650 points, indicating confidence in the country's economic outlook and signaling potential growth.
On the previous trading day, the KSE-100 index experienced a minor decline of 60.92 points, closing at 70,483.66 points, reflecting a marginal decrease of 0.09 percent.
