KARACHI: Gold prices continued their upward trajectory in Pakistan, mirroring gains in the international market.
On April 22, 2025, the gold rate in Karachi reached Rs393,000 per tola for 24K gold, according to the Karachi Jewelers Association. Gold rates in Karachi fluctuate frequently, responding to changes in the international market, which causes prices to rarely stay constant. The current rate for 22K gold in Karachi stands at Rs360,343 per tola.
The highest quality gold available is 24K, but gold is also available in various other purities, such as 22K, 21K, 20K, and 18K.
The sharp increase in gold prices reflects growing investor interest in the precious metal, driven by global economic uncertainties and rising inflation concerns. With gold continuing to break records, it remains a key safe-haven investment for many in Pakistan.
