ISLAMABAD: The interim Religious Affairs Minister, Dr. Aneeq Ahmed, revealed the Haj Policy 2024, highlighting a cost reduction compared to the previous year's expenses.

This year's Haj will cost approximately Rs1.07 million, down by Rs100,000 from last year's Rs1.17 million, introducing a 20-day short package at a slightly higher cost of Rs80,000.

The policy includes free provisions like a 30 kg capacity travel bag with QR coding, a 7 kg hand-carry bag, identification scarves, Ahram belts, and designated shoe bags. Moreover, a mobile SIM with 7 GB data and a dedicated mobile application will be provided for essential use and guidance during the pilgrimage.

Eligibility criteria exclude individuals who performed Hajj from 2017 to 2023. Pakistan's Haj quota of 17,9210 will be evenly divided between the government and private Haj operators. Overseas Pakistanis can partake under the sponsorship scheme, making payments solely in US dollars.

Furthermore, the Road to Makkah project now includes Karachi along with Islamabad airport. The regular scheme's application acceptance period at banks runs from November 27 to December 12.
