Govt enforces sunset closure of businesses to boost energy conservation

In a bold move towards sustainability, the government has announced a groundbreaking initiative aimed at curbing energy consumption and reducing the nation's carbon footprint.

Starting from October 1, 2023, until February 15, 2024, all shops and businesses will be mandated to close at sunset as part of an effort to conserve electricity, said sources. This decision comes in response to soaring power bills and aligns perfectly with the country's long-term sustainability goals.

The move is expected to significantly lower overall energy consumption and promote energy efficiency, ultimately benefiting both the environment and the economy. To further support this endeavor, businesses are encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices during this period.

This forward-thinking approach reflects the government's commitment to addressing the challenges posed by rising energy costs and advancing the nation's sustainable development agenda. As the nation embraces this innovative initiative, it paves the way for a greener and more energy-efficient future.
