KARACHI: Court Grants Bail to PTI Leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in Fraud Case
A local court in Karachi has approved the bail request of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in a fraud case. The case was filed against Sheikh and his three brothers following a citizen's complaint at the Memon Goth police station.
Haleem Adil Sheikh's bail plea was granted against surety bonds valued at Rs100,000.
According to the FIR, one of Haleem's brothers, Aleem, had allegedly promised to transfer ownership of a plot in a housing society after receiving Rs60 million on November 26, 2019. The complainant later discovered that the original land documents did not exist and claimed to have been threatened at gunpoint in a farmhouse for speaking out about the financial fraud.
Previously, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi had ordered Haleem Adil Sheikh's release. However, he was re-arrested outside the Karachi ATC on August 31, shortly after the release order was issued.
