Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has expressed his concerns about Pakistan Vice Captain Shadab Khan's recent performance in light of criticism ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
During a discussion with India's former head coach Ravi Shastri, Harbhajan Singh criticized Shadab Khan's approach, stating that the all-rounder appears content with conceding runs and not taking wickets in matches. Harbhajan Singh emphasized that a cricketer with such a mindset is unlikely to become a match-winner.
Harbhajan Singh also concurred with Ravi Shastri's observation that Pakistan's spinners are not performing well. Ravi Shastri had mentioned that Naseem Shah's absence has been detrimental to the Pakistan team.
It's worth noting that Pakistan captain Babar Azam had voiced his support for Shadab Khan amid criticism of his recent performances, emphasizing the importance of standing by a player during their rough patches.
Shadab Khan, speaking in a press conference ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, acknowledged his recent poor form but expressed optimism about regaining his form for the upcoming tournament. He attributed his struggles to mental challenges but stated that skill-wise, he had no issues.
