Renowned TV host and actor Nadia Khan recently opened up about her first marriage with Khawar Iqbal, revealing that she realized it was a mistake within the first 10 minutes. Speaking on veteran actor Sajid Hasan's digital chat show, Khan reflected on her decade-long marriage which ended in divorce, despite having two children together.
Describing it as a love marriage, Khan admitted that their relationship lacked conventional romantic gestures like dates, with their second meeting happening only at their engagement. She attributed her conservative upbringing to her decision to stay in the marriage despite early misgivings, explaining that it took her years to break free from it.
Recognizing the mismatch in values early on, Khan emphasized that she never confided in her parents about her struggles in the marriage, highlighting the societal pressure to uphold the institution of marriage at all costs.
Reflecting on societal attitudes towards failed marriages, Khan lamented the lack of understanding and empathy, noting that she and her ex-husband made sincere efforts to sustain their relationship for a decade.
Nadia Khan shares two children, a daughter named Alizeh and a son named Azaan, from her first marriage. In December 2020, she tied the knot for the second time with Faisal Mumtaz Rao, a retired PAF fighter pilot, and the couple adopted a son named Kayaan.
