ISLAMABAD: A two-judge bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved protective bail for PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references. The court has instructed law enforcement agencies not to arrest Nawaz Sharif until October 24.

During the court proceedings, Nawaz Sharif's legal representatives, Amjad Pervez and Azam Nazeer Tarar, were present, along with NAB prosecutors Rafey Maqsood and Afzal Qureshi.

Sharif's counsel, Azam Nazeer Tarar, mentioned that the trial court had previously declared Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender, but now the warrants had been suspended by the court.

The Chief Justice of IHC inquired about the order, and Tarar confirmed that the order had been issued, with his colleagues on their way to submit it to the court.

Subsequently, the court granted protective bail to the former prime minister, preventing authorities from arresting him in either of the two cases until October 24.
