ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has written a letter to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, urging him to reconsider various policies affecting the country. The six-point letter, sent as both a former prime minister and PTI leader, addresses critical issues such as fraudulent elections, the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the PECA law, state actions against PTI, intelligence agencies' constitutional roles, and Pakistan’s economic challenges.

Imran Khan expressed concern over a growing divide between the military establishment and the public, primarily due to policies favoring individuals who have benefitted from National Reconciliation Ordinances (NROs). He criticized the current political landscape, citing the victory of money launderers in elections and the impact of the 26th Constitutional Amendment on the rule of law and the judiciary.

The letter also highlighted violent crackdowns on PTI members, terrorism-related cases, and raids, as well as the functioning of intelligence agencies. Despite these criticisms, Khan expressed solidarity with the military’s fight against terrorism and praised their sacrifices. He also condemned the PECA law, claiming it suppresses free speech and harms the military’s reputation.

Addressing Pakistan’s deteriorating economic situation, Khan blamed the government for mismanaging the economy, especially regarding the rupee's value. He called for urgent policy reforms, a judicial commission, and an end to internet shutdowns, stressing the need for changes to restore stability and confidence.
