Inzamam-ul-Haq, Pakistan's chief selector, submitted his resignation to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday.

The move was later confirmed by a PCB representative. Concerns had recently arisen regarding Inzamam's alleged shareholding in a company owned by Talha Rehmani, who serves as the agent for Inzamam and other players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi. The issue of potential conflicts of interest was brought to the forefront, and PCB was expected to seek clarification from Inzamam on this matter.

The PCB has subsequently announced the formation of a five-member fact-finding committee to investigate allegations related to conflicts of interest in the team selection process, as reported in the media. This committee will promptly submit its report and any recommendations to the PCB Management.

Inzamam, confirming his resignation, stated that he was willing to cooperate with any PCB investigation. He emphasized that accusations without evidence were unwarranted and that he had no association with the player agent company in question.

Inzamam also mentioned his willingness to engage with the PCB once the investigation was complete and matters were clarified.

Notably, Inzamam held the position of chairman for both the Senior and Junior Men's Cricket Selection Committees.
