ISLAMABAD: Iran has called for Muslim nations to sever their diplomatic and economic relations with Israel and initiate a boycott of Israeli products in response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The Gaza Strip has faced relentless bombing and a siege imposed by Israeli forces following an unexpected attack by the Hamas resistance group on October 7. This conflict has resulted in a significant number of casualties, with around 40% of the victims being children, and widespread destruction of buildings.
Reza Amiri Moghaddam, Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan, expressed regret that the international community has largely turned a blind eye to the situation and highlighted that Israel's actions in Gaza violate international humanitarian principles and the laws of war. He called for a coordinated effort among Muslim countries to address the crisis and also praised Pakistan for its stance of not recognizing Israel.
