The Israeli military on Thursday named 29-year-old Eliahou Elmakayes as the most recent military casualty in Gaza, foreign news channel reported.
Elmakayes was an engineer in the corps and the military claims he was killed in the fighting on Wednesday.
Three more people suffered critical injuries.
In the course of the ground offensive in Gaza, at least 31 Israeli soldiers had died and over 260 had been injured as of Wednesday. The numbers that were revealed on Thursday are not yet included in the official totals.
