KARACHI: The preparations for the upcoming general elections in Karachi have been finalized, encompassing 5,336 polling stations spread across seven districts. These stations are categorized into highly sensitive, sensitive, and normal, with a significant number falling into the highly sensitive category. Karachi boasts a total of 9,286,241 registered voters, with a diverse composition of male and female voters.
A substantial number of candidates, 575 for National Assembly seats and 1,406 for Sindh Assembly seats, are vying for positions in these elections. The Election Commission has arranged for nine dispatch centers to distribute election materials, ensuring their safe delivery to polling stations under police supervision. The distribution will commence today, with materials dispatched from various locations throughout the city.
Each district in Karachi has its specific allocation of National Assembly and Sindh Assembly seats, catering to its respective population size. For instance, Malir, Korangi, East, South, Kemari, West, and Central districts each have their share of seats based on their population demographics.
