Karachi has secured the position of the world's second most polluted city as temperatures in the city dropped to 13.5 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Meteorological Office on Tuesday.
Over the next 24 hours, the weather is anticipated to remain dry, leading to colder nights according to the Meteorological Office.
The city's air quality has deteriorated notably due to the decreasing temperatures. Karachi's air quality index registered at 262, placing it second on the list of the most polluted cities, primarily due to increased levels of particulate matter.
The weather department forecasts a maximum temperature ranging between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in Karachi for the day.
The air humidity remained at 57 percent, accompanied by northeastern winds blowing at a speed of five nautical miles within the city.
Across most districts of Sindh, the weather is expected to remain cold and dry, with potential occurrences of fog and smog in Jacobabad, Mohen Jo Daro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, and Padidan.
Balochistan's various districts are likely to experience cold and frosty weather, while the northern regions of the province are predicted to face extreme cold conditions.
