KARACHI: Karachi is expected to experience a slight increase in temperature starting from February 9, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The city is currently experiencing cold and dry weather, with the minimum temperature recorded at 12°C. It is expected to range between 12°C and 14°C tonight.
The maximum temperature for Karachi is forecasted to reach 29°C, with northeastern winds blowing at 8 km/h. The humidity level stands at 26% in the city.
The PMD has predicted a gradual rise in temperatures across Karachi from February 9. Meanwhile, cold and dry weather is expected to persist in most parts of the country over the next twelve hours. Very cold weather is likely in hilly areas during the evening and night.
The morning temperatures recorded in major cities were as follows: Islamabad at 4°C, Lahore at 11°C, Karachi at 17°C, Peshawar at 6°C, Quetta at 0°C, Gilgit at 1°C, Murree at 2°C, and Muzaffarabad at 5°C.
In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy and very cold weather is expected in cities like Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula. Temperatures recorded in the region were: Srinagar at -2°C, Jammu at 6°C, Leh at -16°C, Pulwama at -1°C, Anantnag and Shopian at 1°C, and Baramula at 0°C.
