Senior PML-N leader and former Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, has expressed confidence that Nawaz Sharif will assume the role of Pakistan's Prime Minister for the fourth time.
Speaking at a press conference in Sialkot, his hometown, Asif revealed that Nawaz Sharif is expected to return to Pakistan on October 21 with the aim of addressing the nation's current challenges.
Khawaja Asif highlighted the substantial increase in the per-unit electricity cost, noting that it was just 11 rupees when Nawaz Sharif left office in 2017 and has since risen to 55 rupees per unit. Asif, who also served as the Minister for Water and Power, believes that many of Pakistan's ongoing crises will be resolved when Nawaz Sharif takes office for his fourth term as Prime Minister.
He pointed out that Nawaz Sharif was not even named in the Panama Case, yet he faced disqualification. According to Khawaja Asif, Nawaz Sharif plans to visit several foreign countries before returning to Pakistan, and he emphasized their coalition government's role in preventing a financial default during their 16-month tenure.
