The Lahore High Court (LHC) has kept its decision pending on a plea aiming to oust Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar due to alleged neglect of his constitutional duties.

Advocate Muhammad Muqsit, the petitioner, contended before Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan that as per the constitution, the caretaker government's term is limited to 90 days. He asserted that this tenure had elapsed, leaving the country without an executive.

The petitioner accused the caretaker prime minister of failing to meet constitutional obligations, resulting in a delay in holding timely elections. Advocate Muqsit claimed that this failure tarnished the prestige of the prime minister's office.

Highlighting the expiration of Mr. Kakar's term on November 15, the advocate emphasized that he was no longer serving as the caretaker prime minister, as neither the Election Commission nor any constitutional court extended his term.

The petitioner urged the court to issue an order for the removal of the caretaker prime minister from office. Justice Hassan, after hearing the arguments, reserved the verdict.
