On Thursday, regions in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir experienced a 6.0 magnitude earthquake.
The tremors were felt in various areas, including Swat, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Islamabad, Lahore, Swabi, Kohat, Abbottabad, Sargodha, Peshawar, Batgram, Khyber, Landi Kotal, Barra, Chitral, and other parts of Pakistan.
The earthquake's depth was reported at 213 kilometers, with the epicenter located in the Hindukush region. Fearing the quake, people exited their homes while reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba.
In a separate incident in November, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake shook Gilgit and surrounding areas. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed tremors in Gilgit and nearby regions, but there were no reports of casualties or property damage. According to NSMC Islamabad, the quake's depth was recorded at 45 kilometers, with the epicenter located 84 kilometers to the North West.
