Met office predicts dry weather and chilly nights in Karachi

KARACHI: The Meteorological Office in Karachi has predicted dry weather with colder nights for the city in the next 24 hours.

Karachi experienced a minimum temperature of 16.5 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 28 to 29 degrees Celsius, as reported by the weather department. The morning recorded a humidity level of 40%.

Northeastern winds blowing at a speed of seven nautical miles were observed in Karachi.

The city's air quality index stood at 171, indicating hazardous conditions and ranking Karachi as the 8th most polluted city globally, according to the weather office.

Across Sindh, cold and dry weather is anticipated, with potential fog and smog in Jacobabad, Mohen Jo Daro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, and Padidan.

Balochistan's majority districts will experience cold and frosty conditions, while extreme cold weather is expected in the province's northern districts.

The Met Office forecasts cold and dry weather across most parts of the country, with chances of light rain in certain areas and snowfall in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Fog and smog are expected in the plains of Punjab, KP, and upper Sindh.
