After grappling with a widespread outage that left millions of users stranded, Meta's social media giants, Facebook and Instagram, are back online and fully functional.

The disruption, which began around 19:45am PST, caused login errors and rejected passwords, prompting Meta to swiftly address the issue. Users worldwide found themselves unable to access their accounts, leading to frustration and confusion.

However, after several hours of downtime, both platforms have been restored to working order. Users are now able to log in without encountering any issues, and the error messages that plagued the platforms during the outage have disappeared.

Down Detector, which initially recorded over 300,000 reports of the outage, has seen a significant decrease in complaints since the platforms were restored. Additionally, social media platforms like Twitter, which were inundated with outage reports during the disruption, are now witnessing a return to normalcy.

Meta has yet to provide an official statement regarding the cause of the outage or the measures taken to rectify the issue. Nonetheless, users worldwide can breathe a sigh of relief as they regain access to their favorite social media platforms.
