KARACHI: Caretaker Sindh Minister for Irrigation, Eshwar Lal, has initiated the establishment of committees to address the issue of government land encroachments.
The minister has formed committees, assigning officials to address the encroachment problems on government lands. Superintendent Engineer Zaheer Ahmed Memon will lead the committee responsible for Rohri Canal Circle in Hyderabad, while Superintendent Engineer Ashfaq Noah Memon will oversee the Khairpur Irrigation Circle in Sukkur.
These committees have been tasked with compiling comprehensive lists detailing all properties owned by the irrigation department, encompassing lands, plots, and residential properties.
Their primary objective is to identify and document encroachments on the department's lands. Additionally, they will compile detailed lists containing the names and identification particulars of individuals responsible for encroachment.
The departmental committees are expected to present their findings and recommendations within a span of 15 days.
