Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar appointed Mohsin Naqvi as the new Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Following the approval of Zaka Ashraf's resignation from the PCB Chairman position, Naqvi will now lead the organization.

Mohsin Naqvi, currently serving as the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, has been entrusted with the role of PCB Chairman by the interim Prime Minister.

Zaka Ashraf, who served for at least seven months as the PCB Management Committee chairman, stepped down from his position last week. He submitted his resignation as Chairman Management Committee and Member Board of Governor (BoG), citing his efforts for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.

Ashraf expressed disappointment over the working conditions, stating that he found it challenging to work under such circumstances. He emphasized that the nomination of a new chairman was not within the prime minister's prerogative.

The PCB Management Committee, led by Ashraf, was formed in July 2023 for four months by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, utilizing his authority as the patron of the PCB.
