Naseebo Lal files complaint against husband for alleged assault

LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani folk singer Naseebo Lal has filed a police complaint against her husband, Naveed Hussain, accusing him of assaulting her at their residence in Shahdara Town, Lahore.

In the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at the Shahdara Town Police Station, Naseebo Lal claimed that her husband entered their home and began verbally abusing her. She further alleged that he picked up a brick and struck her on the face, causing severe injuries to her face and nose. Naseebo Lal accused Naveed Hussain of persistently engaging in unnecessary quarrels with her.

Following the complaint, the police confirmed that a team had been assigned to apprehend the suspect and investigate the matter. Authorities are actively working to gather more details about the incident.

Naseebo Lal, a prominent figure in the Pakistani music industry, has made her mark with performances in multiple languages, including Saraiki, Punjabi, Urdu, and Marwari. Her collaboration with legendary musician Abida Parveen on the track "Tu Jhoom" gained widespread popularity in 2022, breaking the internet with millions of views. Additionally, Naseebo Lal was featured in the official anthem of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021, "Groove Mera," alongside Aima Baig and Young Stunners.

The incident has drawn attention to domestic violence issues, and authorities are expected to take further steps in ensuring justice for the singer.
