A recent medical report for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is set to return to Pakistan on October 21, has been submitted to the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Nawaz Sharif initially traveled to London in 2019 for medical reasons, with permission from the LHC, which was extendable based on medical reports.
The medical report states that Nawaz Sharif continues to experience some anginal symptoms, necessitating ongoing medical assessments in both London and Pakistan. The report was signed by Professor Carlo Di Mario, a consultant cardiologist at the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals.
According to the report, initial medical treatments were attempted, followed by an angioplasty in November 2022 targeting an occluded left circumflex artery when his symptoms worsened. It recommends continuous monitoring of his condition.
Nawaz Sharif, who is facing various legal cases including those by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), left for London in December 2019 for medical reasons after obtaining permission from the Lahore High Court to travel abroad for four weeks.
Sources indicate that Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan on October 21 via a connecting flight, landing at Abu Dhabi International Airport from London and subsequently traveling to Lahore on the same day.
