LAHORE: In light of the upcoming HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) X matches at Gaddafi Stadium, the Punjab government has issued a notification regarding changes to school timings in several areas of Lahore. These changes aim to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth operations during the high-profile cricket event.
According to the notification, schools located near Gaddafi Stadium, including areas like Gulberg, Model Town, Ichhra, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, Shadman, Canal Road, Upper Mall, and Zahoor Elahi Road, will observe revised timings during the PSL X matches. The new timings will run from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, ensuring that students and staff are not affected by the heavy traffic and increased security presence surrounding the stadium.
The HBL PSL X matches are scheduled to take place between April 24 and May 18, with all matches set to begin at 7:00 PM, whether they are day or night games. The change in school timings is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and create a smoother environment for those attending or commuting near the stadium during match hours.
In addition to the PSL X matches, practice matches for the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers have already begun in the Walled City, with the final match set for April 19. These events further highlight the significance of Lahore as a hub for major international cricket activities.
The HBL PSL X will officially begin on Friday, April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on the two-time champions Lahore Qalandars. Cricket enthusiasts across the city are eagerly awaiting the start of the tournament, with expectations running high for exciting matches and top-tier performances.
These revised school timings will ensure that educational activities continue smoothly while accommodating the influx of visitors and heightened security measures during the PSL X matches.
