The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced on Thursday that it will maintain uninterrupted gas supply during Sehr and Iftar times throughout the holy month of Ramzan. The first day of Ramzan is expected to be observed by Pakistanis on Wednesday, March 13.

As per the schedule provided by SSGC, there will be no loadshedding during Sehr and Iftar times. However, gas supply will be suspended from 9 am to 3 pm and from 10 pm to 3 am during Ramzan.

SSGC assured the public of continued gas supply during Sehr and Iftar, despite a yearly decline of 8 to 10 percent in Pakistan's gas reserves. The company emphasized the increasing gas consumption and the rapid depletion of natural gas reserves, advocating for a transition to RLNG (Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas) from local gas.

Additionally, SSGC stated its efforts towards biogas, nitrogen production, and coal gasification to fulfill the country's gas requirements. Earlier in February, the caretaker government raised gas tariffs nationwide to meet IMF conditions.
