Renowned Pakistani actor Omair Rana, recognized for his roles in popular television dramas like Pyar Kay Sadqay and Sang-e-Mah, recently expressed his concerns regarding the content aired during the holy month of Ramazan. Specifically, he criticized the inclusion of game shows, which he believes promote values that contradict the essence of the month.

During an interview on a YouTube talk show, Omair conveyed his dissatisfaction with Ramazan game shows, remarking, “I find certain aspects of the game shows aired during Ramazan to be distasteful.” He further explained, “I believe these shows inadvertently promote values that are not aligned with the spirit of Ramazan. It troubles me to see the encouragement of gluttony and greed, rather than focusing on themes of humility and empathy.”

Omair emphasized the importance of ensuring that content aired during this period is relevant to the occasion. Despite acknowledging the significance of humor in entertainment, he stressed the need for shows to incorporate elements that resonate with the essence of Ramazan.

Transitioning to television after years of experience in theatre, Omair has consistently shared insights on storytelling. Reflecting on his journey as an actor during a 2022 interview with host and actor Ahsan Khan, he highlighted the importance of respecting literature and craftsmanship in acting. He also revealed instances where discrepancies between the communicated role and its execution left him feeling conflicted.

When discussing the key aspects of a character, Omair emphasized the importance of character development, the character's desires, and their contribution to the overall narrative of the show.
