In the last 24 hours, 6,584 undocumented Afghan nationals returned to Afghanistan, according to authorities in Islamabad. A significant number of immigrants are departing Pakistan through the Chaman and Torkham border crossings with Afghanistan.

Temporary transit camps have been set up by authorities in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces to facilitate the repatriation of illegal immigrants. On Sunday, a large number of Afghan immigrants crossed into Afghanistan, with more waiting at the Torkham border for their turn to enter.

Pakistan's authorities are assisting the safe exit of foreign nationals after the deadline for illegal immigrants to stay in the country has passed. On a previous day, 7,135 Afghan citizens returned to Afghanistan from the Torkham border crossing, as stated by the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees (CAR).

The majority of these immigrants are Afghan nationals who have been residing in Pakistan without proper documentation. Repatriation efforts for these illegal Afghan immigrants are ongoing through the Chaman and Torkham borders.

Caretaker Minister for Interior Sarfraz Bugti has instructed the relevant authorities to develop a comprehensive strategy for the repatriation of foreign nationals residing illegally in Pakistan. During a meeting, the caretaker interior minister expressed a commitment to addressing the issue of illegal immigration and ensuring the provision of robust security to foreigners.
